The end is almost here!! I am officially full term (full term is classed after 37 weeks) It has went so so fast, but I think the secret is to keep yourself busy and it doesn't seem to drag as much. The hospital bag is packed, nursery is organised and changing unit in the living room is built! It made me think of all the essential things that I have relied on in my pregnancy this time around and what has made things easier. So why not share them with my fellow mamas to be.
First up has to be the pregnancy pillow. I could not sleep without this! They do come in different variations. With Georgia I had the full body pillow that wraps around you, but i'll admit it is so heavy that it gets annoying. This time I went for the V shaped pillow. This keeps your hips the right width apart and takes weight off your pelvis it also gives a little support to your growing bump (I tucked my pillow just under my belly). Sleeping when pregnant can be so difficult. Especially if your pregnant in the summer but this little baby kept me comfortable. You can get these everywhere. I got mine on amazon, here https://amzn.to/2GHALic
Next is bra extenders. A true life saver. I bought maternity bras at the start of my second trimester as the underwire was starting to hurt me. But as I've grew the bra extenders have helped my bras grow with me. No need to buy a new bra every so many weeks. We have decided this will be our last baby so I didn't see the point in buying all these maternity bras that will literally just go in the bin afterwards, lets not lie they aren't the prettiest of bras without spending a small fortune. The bra extenders are super cheap and can help you save some extra cash to spend on the baby. You can get different colours and sizes here; https://amzn.to/2GHB3FO
Mama Bee body oil. I was lucky enough not to get stretch marks with my first pregnancy and so far in this pregnancy too. I'm pretty sure this oil is aimed at prevention of stretch marks but to be honest I wasn't too fussed if I got them or not. Its a small price to pay for your little baba. I used this more as my skin was super dry from pregnancy and feels so tight. My skin all over is so dry so I'm trying to keep as hydrated as possible. I use this on my bump, arms and legs. It also smells amazing! bonus. I got mine from amazon, here https://amzn.to/2YwGQbq
Midi dresses. This may seem a random one but being heavily pregnant in the summer these have been a life saver. They are so comfortable, they aren't too long (maxi dresses sometimes annoy me with the length) and they aren't restricting. Even when it isn't too warm I've wore them with a t-shirt underneath if they have thin straps, or even a thin jumper or long sleeved top over them but tied up just above my bump. I have a mix of midi dresses from Primark to Newlook. They aren't maternity just stretchy.
Sliders!! If you know you know! Pregnancy plus the heat means swollen feet. Sliders have been my life saver. I cannot put on trainers right now they are not comfortable atall! Extra bonus you don't need to bend down to put them on or tie laces. Winning!
The last one has been my life saver for the past few weeks and seem very strange but trust me it works. A can of coca cola for heart burn. I cant drink Gaviscon, not only does it make me feel sick but doesn't really work. Those Rennies are like chewing useless chalk. My auntie told me this trick of just sipping a can of coke and oh my god! it is instant. Now I know caffeine isn't good for the baby and before everyone starts going crazy but I'm not talking about drinking 2-3 cans a day. After 2 sips heartburn be gone. I never fully finish a can. It lasts the whole day just taking a sip or two when I need it. Trust me if it gets that bad you will drink anything that works.
So that is a few of my pregnancy essentials. What are your absolute favorites you would add to the list?
