Hey. Welcome back!
So I'm a little late with the 2018 favourites seeing that we are in the middle of January but I didn't actually realise that I hadn't done a favourites. So here goes!!!
Skincare
Now I don't use a lot of skin care. I do the odd mask every week/2 weeks. But I do moisturise and use serums as I have dry skin.
Kiehl's Midnight Concentrate Recovery oil has been my go to this year. It gives my skin such an amazing glow and makes it feel and look amazing.
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturiser has been my favourite moisturiser for quite some time. Its quite think in consistency but I feel like it really moisturises deep in my skin. I lather tonnes of this on my face and neck at night and my skin feels amazing the next day.
Makeup
Foundation - I'm sticking with my All Nighter foundation by Urban Decay on this one. I know this product inside and out. I know how its going to look on someone's skin whether they are dry or oily. I know it doesn't budge and that's what my clients want. However I did try the YSL all hours foundation a few times and it was gorgeous! Same coverage but more of a semi dewy finish rather than a matte if you prefer that. I do however mix my All nighter with a beauty oil and that gives it a little less matte and thins out the product slightly.
Concealer - I am totally converted to the Too Faced Born this way concealer. The size of the bottle is unreal. The coverage is so full but is not drying in the slightest. I done a full review on this product if your interested click here.
Palette - For me the Stacey Marie Carnival palette with Bperfect cosmetics stole the show this year. It is so pigmented. The colours are amazing. I don't really use the highlighters to be honest but mainly because I forget about them, but I have used them as eyeshadows. The price of this palette was so reasonable to. I also have a tutorial using this palette, click here.
Primer - Now I was always a lover of urban decay optical illusion and I do still love it but I tried the ordinary primer and at only £5.50 it is amazing. I cant believe how smooth it makes your skin feel and how cheap it is! Crazy. If you haven't tried it you need to.
Highlight - This year I was a big fan of cream highlight. I mostly used the Barry M liquid chrome highlighting drops! Use them all over your face before foundation, mix them into your foundation or just on top of your makeup in more specific areas (but always before applying powder). Amazing on shoulders and collarbone to give an all over glow.
Eyeliner - This year my favourite liner I purchased again and again was the Maybelinne gel liner. It is darker than some high end liners I have used and the staying power is great. Sometimes I do set it with a black eye shadow but normally when its new and really 'wet' to stop it transferring. If you have trouble with eyeliner I also have a tutorial on this (shameless plugs) you can click here.
Powder - Now I'm a big fan of 'baking' when it comes to setting foundation and the Revolution baking powders did not disappoint. In my opinion they work the same as high end baking powders. Powder is powder in my eyes, you cant really go wrong as long as its not cakey.
So that's my favourites of 2018. I cant really think of any other products different I have used that I can think of mentioning. Although a lot of these products aren't brand new this year they have seen me through a busy year free lancing and haven't let me down. Let me know in the comments below if you would like to know any other products I love.
Did you try any of these products this year?
